Parents will be given notice ahead of time if this happens, and it would most likely only happen occasionally. Instead of closing at 5:30PM, our closing time would be 4:30PM on any affected day. for the remainder of the school year if it is necessary. There may be schedule changes affecting closing time at Small Wonders Nursery & Daycare, Inc. Any weather-related closings or delays will be broadcasted by the Rhode Island Broadcasters Association and will also be posted on our Small Wonders Nursery & Daycare Facebook page. However, if Swansea Public Schools are on vacation, then please listen to the radio, watch the television, or check the appropriate websites. If there is no school due to weather conditions, such as snow storms, please know that if Swansea Public Schools cancel, then so does Small Wonders.Please ensure that your child’s coat is labeled as we will still be going outside for playtime.Please let us know if your child is attending this week.

During the week of February 19th, our hours will temporarily change to 8AM – 4:30PM (Tues – Friday) due to low enrollment this week.On Monday, February 19, 2024, there will be no school due to Presidents’ Day.We will celebrate spring with our bears by having a Teddy Bear Picnic once all off our bears wake up on March 19, 2024. All bears will be returned in the spring (after hibernation). Please have your child bring in a teddy bear to sleep in our bear cave for the winter (during hibernation). It is located on the stage, please do not let your child go up there without their teacher. We are talking about hibernation! There is a “bear cave” in the music room.You may keep a copy for your records, but we do need the entire evaluationback and not just the front page. In accordance with Massachusetts General Law, all evaluations must be signed and returned to Small Wonders and will be kept in your child’s file. At this time, letters will be sent home if there are any concerns with speech, vision, hearing, or learning development issues, so that referrals can be made to the appropriate agencies to further help with your child’s development. During the month of February teachers will be sending home a mid-year evaluation of your child’s progress at Small Wonders Nursery & Daycare, Inc.Children will exchange Valentine’s Day cards and have a special snack (provided by Small Wonders, the menu will be posted.) The Audubon Society will be visiting Small Wonders to do a pre-school aged nature program, “Owl Babies.” If your child would like to add this day, it will be $40.00 for the ½ day.
